Bio

  • Hi and welcome! My name is Kelly Morisseau and I'm a second-generation CMKBD (Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer), and a CID (Certified Interior Designer) for a residential design/build firm in Northern California. This blog isn't about looking for clients. After 25 years in the business, I wanted to give something back.

Due to a goodly volume of e-mails, I'm only able to answer those which might offer the most help to the majority. Thanks for understanding if I don't get to yours. :)

Kitchen Sync blogs about, well, KitchenSync...

When I first thought up my blog name, I thought I was so clever. Hah. Apparently so did other clever people  because the web is littered with the name.

Hint?  I'm not affiliated with any of them -- not the stores nor the bands nor the software code.

The only Kitchen Sync--er, KitchenSync--I wish I was affiliated with is Noah Balmer's. Noah is an up-and-coming industrial designer who has designed a nifty little device which NoahBalmer.com painstakingly notes is "a durable peripheral for the kitchen."

Noah, Noah. My little writing hands are itching to redo your website. This isn't a durable peripheral *sniff* -- this is a durable, washable WiFi cookbook -- touchpad, no less -- where one can download all their beloved recipes without worrying about egg whites dribbling over the page, or tipping the laptop off the barstool.

What you may not know about Noah is he's a California College of the Arts student who won second place for student design in the 2008 International Housewares Association competition (I know. These design competitions have long names, don't they?)

Unfortunately for us, Kitchen Sync's still in development. (Hey, he just won the award in February!) I would think when it finally is ready for market that the food websites will be all over it.

In the meantime, check out the work Noah put into the KitchenSync's creation (you'll have to click the note "view process book.pdf" on the bottom left of the page.)

Here's one invention I'm looking forward to. Let's keep our fingers crossed, shall we? :)

Thanks for the KitchenSync tidbit of information, but I need some "meat" in kitchen technology which provides a "chef-to-be" a Christmas gift in a step by step computer specifically for the home cook. Today we saw one, and oddly enough, on eEntertainment TV show but it went by so fast we didn't get the name. The actress was holding it in her hand...so it's a hand held device.
Thanks...specific weblinks would be greatly appreciated.
